How Do I Become Involved ?
First Visit (usually 1 to 2 hours):
Before deciding to participate in a research study, you will
receive a full disclosure of the benefits and risks of
participation. You will then have the opportunity to
discuss all the aspects of the study with our medical staff. Once
you are fully informed, you can then decide whether or not to go
ahead. You are always in charge of this decision (known as Informed Consent).
Presuming you decide to enter the study, we will gather a medical history and a N.E.C.C.R.
physician will give you a
thorough physical exam. Study-related diagnostic tests as well as
lab tests will be administered.
Follow-up Visits:
You can expect close monitoring by our medical personnel
throughout the study. Each time you return to our facility, you will
be examined by a doctor or an assistant. During the trial, you will
receive tests, monitoring and examinations all at no cost to you.
The frequency of your office visits depends on the study you are in.
If your condition does not fit an existing study, we
will put your application in our database so that we may contact you
in the future when a more appropriate study is available.
Getting Here:
We will be happy to provide you with instructions for
reaching our facilities. For the convenience of patients who are
